Organized by Chervona Kalyna Berlin\ne.V. as the official international franchise of the acclaimed Lviv Bandur Fest\, the Berlin edition brings\nUkrainian musical heritage to European audiences for the first time.\nThe festival champions the bandura as a fully contemporary instrument – promoting original\nrepertoire\, artistic experimentation\, gender equality\, and professional dialogue between Ukrainian\nand diaspora communities. \nBackground\nLviv Bandur Fest was founded by Anastasiya Voytyuk and ran from 2017 to 2021 as a leading\nprofessional platform for contemporary bandura. In 2026\, co-initiated by Khrystyna Petrynka\, the\nfestival returns in a transformed\, internationally expanded format – taking place simultaneously in\nLviv\, Kharkiv\, Zaporizhzhia\, and Berlin under a unified festival framework.\nThe Berlin edition\, organized under a franchise agreement\, serves as the festival’s international\nanchor – connecting diaspora and European audiences\, and creating space for artistic and academic\ndialogue on culture\, exile\, and identity. \nProgram\nThe festival brings together three core strands – performances\, academic conference\, and panel\ndiscussions. The international conference gathers scholars from North America\, Ukraine\, and\nEurope for interdisciplinary dialogue on the history and contemporary significance of the bandura.\nThe „Strings Across Borders“ program unites musicians from Ukraine\, Ireland\, and the Baltic\ncountries through performances\, workshops\, and collaborative co-creation sessions.
